We’d like to introduce a special friend to you—Ping Wu (武萍), a recent graduate of UCLA who also served on the CSSA-UCLA Committee, a bright, blossoming young girl in her pursuit of happiness, celebrating life and trying to fulfill her dreams.
But her life took a tragic turn two days before this past Christmas: the doctors informed her that she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), type IV, an unanticipated diagnosis that would forever change her life, and the lives of many others. We are still in shock, in disbelief, and we would rather think all of this is just a bad dream...
As you all have known, over the past month, a number of extremist
groups had created riots and massively interfered with the Olympic
torch relay in different regions across the world. However, some
western media had been so biased that the truth has been entirely
masked from the general public, which is a total violation of their
professionalism. What's more, some media reports had turn out to be
shameful assaults and battery towards Chinese people. Now that we have
come to realize those shocking and ugly acts, we are more determined
than ever to act against those knaveries!
The 2008 Beijing Olympics Torch Relay at San Francisco will start on the coming Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 (Attached please find the Olympic torch route of San Francisco). As you may know, San Francisco is the only North America stop on the worldwide 2008 Olympic Torch Relay in advance of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

众所周知，日前，在我国西藏藏族自治区拉萨市，发生了严重的骚乱。市内的多家商店，超市，银行，学校，医院，报社和沿街的车辆遭到砸抢和纵火，并造成数十名平民伤亡。更有甚者，一名暴徒竟然在光天化日之下，焚烧中国国旗。此次骚乱还波及到邻近的甘肃，四川，青海等省份。另外，在北美的纽约和多伦多等地，藏独分子多次组织游行示威，围攻和冲击当地的中国总领馆，与国内的骚乱，遥相呼应。我们北美地区40 余所高校中国学生学者联谊会，对此次骚乱事件及其发展表示深切关注。
Employers attending this event include Research Institute of Geology for Mineral Resources, Guilin Incubator Center, China, Guangxi Veterinary Research Institute, Nanning Nannan Aluminum Co., Ltd., and many other research institutes and companies from Guangxi. Various representatives from personnel departments of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, City of Nanning, City of Qinzhou, City of Fangchenggang, and City of Guigang will attend the workshop and participate in on-the-spot job interviews.
